Hi, I'm Mai, some people call me Kiwi! I'm currently the head mod of Danganronpa: Girls Day Out anthology as well as the Marignatz zine! I've always wanted to get a cookbook zine up and running, and am grateful to be able to work on Recipe for Despair. While my experience is primarily not of fanbooks, I'm dedicated to making this a reality!

What is the theme of this zine?

The theme of this zine is a cafe. Characters can either be an employee, or a customer being served. We hope to theme the uniforms similar to butler / maid outfits, but artists may be creative with their designs.

What is the rating of this zine? Is there an age limit?

This project is SFW with no gore allowed.You must be 16+ to apply.

What are my rights as a contributor?

You will maintain all rights to your artwork / recipes. However, we ask you do not post or sell your full pieces until the zine has been shipped out.

What are the artist expectations?

Artists will be assigned one recipe to illustrate. Most - if not all recipes have a character theme to them, to draw the character in the piece is up to the artist, but it is heavily encouraged to incorporate them somehow.

How will chefs handle recipes?

Chefs will be assigned a recipe from each category to create. The categories are breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, and beverages. So in total, Chefs will create 5 recipes.

What is the planned merchandise?

Currently, we have 1 sticker sheet, 1 charm, 1 recipe card, and 1 bookmark planned. Stretch goals will be determined after the interest check.

What if we need to drop from the project?

If you need to drop, please let us know immediately so we can contact pitch hitters.Extensions are viable and last up to one week, but no extensions may be given past the deadline.

Will the project feature Gluten-Free / Vegan recipes?

Short answer is - yes! Recipes will state when a recipe is vegan / celiac friendly, or at the very least have substitution options noted on the side!

What unit of measurement will the zine feature?

We will primarily work with the imperial system, with a metric conversion guide in the zine itself.

Will alcoholic drinks be featured?

No alcoholic beverages will be featured in the zine.
